Sophie and Sian 27th August 2010
Sophie: can you take me to town later please?
Sally: but you know I’ve got Hayley’s hen night
Hayley: oh it’s a pity you can’t come with us but as no one will tell me what’s going on, it may be far too risky for a 15 year old. I do suppose we will be going to a pub or something, excuse me, she dances as she answers, Hayley Cropper
Sophie: will you ask my dad then please?
Sally: you can ask him yourself
Sophie: no he’ll just say no after I get passed, dad please will you
Roy: there a problem?
Hayley: string quartet, for the wedding
Mary: classic movie medley, moon river, lara’s theme from Doctor Zhivago, apparently Roy reminds Hayley of omaha sheriff
Hayley: sometimes, the cello players been arrested, something to do with the neighbours washing, we’ve no music
Roy: washing?
Hayley: items disappearing, flimsy items
Roy: oh
Hayley: found in his cello case
Mary: perhaps I can help find a replacement
Sally: ey, or what about Sophie’s choir they’re very good
Sophie: mum, you’ve never even heard us
Saly: well she’s always rehearsing
Hayley: oh that would be wonderful, do you think they would?
Sophie: well no yo can’t just volunteer us mum not at this short notice
Sally: well you can ask the Pastor, you’ve got his number on your phone
Sophie: will you stop worrying, they won’t be home for hours yet and Rosie well she doesn’t come home until the shops have shut
Sian: well I don’t want another scare like last night thanks
Sophie: well the back door open so you can be up and over the fence in a few seconds
Sian: this isn’t funny, especially with your mum and the choir, why didn’t you try and stop her?
Sophie: because you know what she’s like when she sets her mind to something
Sian: you do know the second she sees me she’s going to know we’ve been seeing each other. I suppose I could just not turn up
Sophie: no because then people will be asking me where you are and then I’ll have to lie and then she’ll know because sometimes Sian she has these superpowers that read my mind
Sian: yeah well I hope she doesn’t read it all the time
Sophie: well I could just tell her the truth
Sian: about us? No, no
Sophie: about you being in the choir and then she’ll probably think that’s all we’ve been hiding and she won’t think we’ve got another secret
Sally: ah thanks love. Ah I feel awful about not going to this hen night
Sophie: have an early night tomorrow, sleep off your hangover, live life to the full remember
Sally: oh, really though I’m not up to it
Sophie: you are ok though
Sally: no, I am just tired, I rung Becky and asked her to apologise to Hayley but she recons Hayley will understand
Sophie: yeah course she will, um
Sally: oh I am not up to taking you into town love, your dad promised he would, okay
Sophie: he might not
Sally: what?
Sophie: um mum I’ve got something to tell you
Sally: go on
Sophie: this choir that I’ve been going to, Sian’s in it
Sally: Sophie after we forbade you to see her, it’s one lie after another at the moment
Sophie: yeah I know, I just hate having secrets from you
Sally: well I suppose you’ve been honest now but no more lies promise
Sophie: promise
Sally: the amount of rehearsing you’ve been doing, this choir better be good
Eillen: any news from the hospital?
Sophie: er no, not as of yet, I swear Dev and Sunita must be in bits
Eillen: poor little sausage, you say a prayer for me
Sophie: definitely see you later
Sophie: I’ve only seen him yesterday, I can’t believe it
Claire: I um, need to ask, when I left last night, was everything ok?
Sophie: how do you mean?
Claire: well the kids didn’t play up at all?
Sophie: no
Claire: so no tears or anything?
Sophie: nope, not that I heard
Claire: are you sure about that?
Sophie: Claire when I put Aadi to bed, he was fine, they were all fine. I have baby sat before you know
Claire: I wasn’t trying to insinuate anything
Sophie: you could have fooled me
Claire: I’m just trying to put Sunita’s mind at rest that’s all. I best go
Sophie: Claire, I’m sorry, I’m just really freaked out
Claire: I know the feeling night
