Sophie and Sian 19th July 2010
Lloyd: Can you manage?
Sian: yes
Lloyd: I’m amazed you’re back on your feet so quick
Sian: I know, still a bit tender though
Lloyd: Not surprised
Sian: you soon get over it, just told me not to be mad didn’t they
Lloyd: eighty years ago it would have been three weeks in a darkened room drinking beef tea
Sophie: ohh he had it hard as a kid Lloyd
Lloyd: cheeky
Sian: There you go
Lloyd: okay, now listen look after yourselfs
Sophie and Sian: Thank You
Sophie: It is good to have you back in one piece anyway, are you sure your mum doesn’t mind you staying
Sian: no, she don’t…hi
Ryan: you all right? How you feeling?
Sian: um, I’m good thank you. Thank you for everything that you have done
Ryan: It was nothing
Sian: come on you only saved my life
Ryan: I wouldn’t go that far
Sian: So, er, you got anything planned for the summer?
Ryan: Not really um I was wondering whether we could meet up sometime
Sian: yeah okay
Ryan: one evening this week maybe
Sian: well, er, a daytime would probably be better
Ryan: lunch then
Sian: yeah, thank you
Ryan: do you want to do it today or do you want to leave it for a bit
Sian: um no we’ll do it today
Ryan: all right, half twelve at mine then
Sian: okay
Ryan: see you later
Sian: bye…what? He’s still my mate and I can’t exactly say no after everything he’s done for me now can I? Your working in the shop later anyway, what does it matter?
Ciaran: Thought I’d drop by and see how your doing
Ryan: why?
Ciaran: just checking making sure you’ve got everything under control
Ryan: has mum sent you?
Ciaran: No, but I know she wants it to go well so
Ryan: your only here because you want to get in with her
Ciaran: how could you say such a thing…did you get the flowers?
Ryan: it’s a bit nath isn’t it?
Ciaran: your hopeless where are they?
Ryan: just over there
Ciaran: Have you got a vase?
Ryan: just under there, look I’m not really sure about this
Ciaran: Would you trust me! Now did you get the fresh basil to chop in with the soup?
Ryan: Dev only had dry
Ciaran: and I told you to get bread rolls
Ryan: I don’t really care Ciaran
Ciaran: mugs for drinking out off?
Ryan: we’re only having water, you said that was cool
Ciaran: your going to have to do something about the music
Ryan: what’s up with it?
Ciaran: it sounds like somebody is dying. Have you not got like a decent boyband or something?
Ryan: That will be her…hello, yeah come up. Right will you get lost now
Ciaran: did you get mint for the wat
Ryan: Ciaran!
Ciaran: I’m going, I’m going
Sian: hi
Ryan: hey
Ciaran: I was just dropping something off, have fun
Sian: well you seem to have gone to a lot of trouble
Ryan: not really
Sunita: 20p change
Sean: I’ve just seen Claire with all the kids, taking them swimming
Sunita: oh good
Sean: wish I was doing things like that with Dylan. If only I could cut a favour with Violet
Sunita: mango chutney
Sean: sorry
Sunita: you’ve just reminded me, thanks Sean
Sean: Well I’m glad I have my uses
Sunita: how’s Sian soph?
Sophie: yeah she’s good thanks
Sunita: you okay?
Sophie: yeah fine
Sunita: yes can I make an order please?
Ciaran: just popped in to see Ryan by the way
Michelle: oh yeah what for?
Ciaran: to check to see if he was doing everything okay for his big date with Sian
Michelle: and was he?
Ciaran: ah, he was half way there but I put him through his paces
Michelle: right what did you tell him?
Ciaran: just all those little touches that a girl appreciates
Michelle: like what?
Ciaran: trade secret, but he’ll be putty in his hands by the time he’s finished
Michelle: well thanks for that Ciaran
Ciaran: my pleasure
Michelle: yeah but if you think feeding Ryan some corny old chat up routine is going to get you into my bed, think again
Sophie: Sunita, is it all right if I just nip out for a second?
Sunita: yeah
Sophie: thanks
Ryan: is it all right?
Sian: yeah
Ryan: look if your feeling a bit weird about the flowers and everything, it wasn’t me, it was Ciaran
Sian: Ciaran
Ryan: saw him in the shop and he pushed a load of advice on me and then he came round and just sort of took over. I couldn’t get rid of him
Sian: is that why we’re drinking water
Ryan: he said that’s what they drink in L.A at lunchtime
Sian: you haven’t got anything fizzy have you?
Ryan: I was just going to get us some kebabs
Sian: so how does he know what it’s like in L.A anyway?
Ryan: he might have been in a submarine. We’ve got beer and lemonade
Sian: um, yeah can you make me a shandy please? Thanks, so I’m guessing he didn’t choose the music then?
Ryan: we can have Tom Jones if you’d rather…Look I was going to ask you last week actually but I’ve got tickets for this music festival and I was thinking…what do you want? Sophie? What’s up with her?
Sian: I’m sorry…Sophie
Sian: Soph? Sophie?
Sophie: get away from me
Sian: what?
Sophie: you know, you knew everything he was planning
Sian: he wasn’t planning anything
Sophie: well I can hardly say no after everything he’s done for me
Sian: well I couldn’t
Sophie: you want to get back with him don’t you?
Sian: no I don’t
Sophie: you must think I’m stupid, I heard him in the hospital telling the nurse you was his girlfriend
Sian: what?
Sophie: and then when I came in he was all over you
Sian: he was pouring my shandy
Sophie: he was practically snogging you
Sian: ah, I don’t believe this
Sophie: yeah, well I’m sorry for ruining your plans
Sian: well you couldn’t be more wrong
Sophie: yeah well go back and finish what you started, because that’s what I would do
Sian: nothing was going on
Sophie: it would have if I hadn’t of come
Sian: no it wouldn’t
Sophie: I can’t believe you’d lie like that
Sian: well, I can’t believe you’d come and check up on me
Sophie: yeah well it’s a good job
Sian: right well if you can’t trust me
Sophie: I heard Ciaran telling Michelle what was going on
Sian: Ciaran?
Sophie: and how he’d helped Ryan make some romantic meal
Sian: yeah and Ryan kept telling him to bog off. It was Ciaran that made all the fancy touches, all Ryan wanted to do was get a kebab
Sophie: well why did you do what Ciaran said?
Sian: er, well maybe because I felt pushed into it…if I had known it was going to be like that then I wouldn’t have gone
Sophie: and he didn’t try anything
Sian: no because I didn’t give him a chance…and the only thing he did say was that
Sophie: ah, I knew it
Sian: if you’ll listen to me, was that he wanted to take me to a music festival but you came in and I didn’t have a chance to answer him
Sophie: and if I hadn’t of come in what would you have said?
Sian: then I would have said no. He means nothing to me. You’re the one that I love no one else, not ever, you better believe me. Come here
Ryan: Sian? What are you doing?
Sian: nothing
Sian: Can I come in? I thought that I’d better explain
Ryan: was that out there, was that what I think it was? I don’t believe this you’re a lesbian
Sian: that’s a big word
Ryan: what then bisexual?
Sian: I don’t know, I’m confused
Ryan: yeah well join the club. So how longs this been going on?
Sian: about 3 months
Ryan: so you were going out with me at the same time?
Sian: no, it was after we had split up
Ryan: so you were stringing me along
Sian: no I wasn’t
Ryan: so how long have you known?
Sian: it’s just that I haven’t known and I’ve been trying to work it out what’s been going on inside my head
Ryan: and what have you decided?
Sian: I’m not sure yet, just that I think I’m in love with Sophie
Ryan: and is she one?
Sian: one what?
Ryan: a dyke?
Sian: she is just as confused as I am Ryan
Ryan: so you pack me in so you can sleep with her
Sian: I didn’t, we’ve not even done anything like that
Ryan: so what do you do? Just snog?
Sian: It’s not about sex it’s about feelings. You don’t just choose it, you don’t just say to god oh please can I be like this because I’m fed up of blokes and I never want kids. It is something inside you
Ryan: So why didn’t you tell me?
Sian: I don’t know, like I said I was confused and I was scared and I was embarrassed and wishing sometimes that it wasn’t happening. I had no one to talk to other than Sophie
Ryan: I still don’t get it
Sian: yeah well I’m not sure we do either
Ryan: so who else knows?
Sian: no one and we’d like it to stay that way
Ryan: then why snog Sophie in public?
Sian: it was a big mistake I know, she was upset, I don’t know, it just kinda happened
Ryan: you’ve done this because I’ve tried it on with Sophie
Sian: This is not about you
Ryan: you wanted revenge
Sian: your miles off, I don’t want to hurt you. I just feel in love with somebody else
Ryan: that’s why you came to lunch. To play with my mind
Sian: no I came because you saved my life and I came because I still like you as a friend
Ryan: but that’s all
Sian: I’m sorry
Ryan: when would you have told me? If I hadn’t of found out
Sian: I really don’t know. I was just hoping that you and me would fade and I wouldn’t need to tell you. Come on at least I am being honest with you now
Ryan: Only because you want to keep me quiet. That’s why you came back
Sian: I know, right, I know that this is a lot to ask from you but we’re not ready for people to know…so will you please?
Ryan: have to see won’t I
Sian: Ryan
Sophie: well? Is he going to keep quiet?
Sian: where’s your mum?
Sophie: it’s all right, she’s not in
Sian: he just said he’ll have to think about it
Sophie: well what does that mean?
Sian: well, I don’t know, he was really freaked out soph
Sophie: freaked out about what?
Sian: about everything, he can’t believe what we’re doing and he’s mad at me, he
thinks I’ve just been stringing him along
Sophie: oh trust it to be about him again
Sian: come on, if that’s the way he see’s it
Sophie: yeah well it’s nothing to do with that
Sian: I really don’t think that we’ve done the right thing. We should have just denied it
Sophie: but he saw us
Sian: I know that but, or we could have just said
Sophie: Sian he’s not daft. We’ve got more chance of getting him on our side if we just come clean. There’s no point in lying to him
Sian: well, I’m not so sure
Sophie: Get a grip! Well what else did you say?
Sian: just explained what had been happening, how neither of us really understood, but I’m not sure it helped. We were crazy doing that outside
Sophie: Well you know him better than I do, will he tell people?
Sian: just going to have to pray that he doesn’t
Sally: well, I can see you’re a dab hand at steak and kidney Sian
Sian: it’s my dad’s favorite
Sally: what proportions do you like?
Sian: well I have two steak to one kidney and then my dad has fifty fifty
Sally: well, we’re with you there aren’t we soph. oh I’d better bring those sheets in before they get damp
Sophie: or there is something else we could do. Tell people ourselves then we don’t have to worry about Ryan
Sian: yeah well are you really ready for all the gossiping and name-calling, because I’m not
Sophie: well you know it might happen anyway if Ryan opens his gob. We’re going to have to face it sometime Sian
Sian: well not yet though
Sophie: are you ashamed?
Sian: no Sophie I am not ashamed but I am not ready for people to know yet either. It was a nightmare talking to Ryan about it. You weren’t there
Sophie: I suppose
Sian: and as for telling my parents, well I need to come to terms with this before I start explaining to them…ok?
Sophie: ok, we won’t tell people but let’s hope Ryan keeps his gob shut
Sally: did you do what you had to do this dinnertime Sian? Because Sophie said you had something to sort out
Sian: um, yeah, I did, yeah
Sally: oh, won’t ask you what it was
